RIDE FOR AMERICA: Poker Run

(Sebastian, FL) The American Security Council Foundation organized its very first poker run on April 7th, 2018 with the help from American Legion Post 39 in Vero Beach, FL. This Fundraiser was put together to help support our educational program “Step Up America: A Call To Good Citizenship”. This program is designed to teach our youth how to become responsible and engaged U.S. Citizens.

“Step Up America” helps answer questions such as:

  • What does it mean to be a good citizen?
  • How do you make change within your communities?
  • What is the meaning of freedom and what protects our freedoms?
  • How do our branches of government work?
  • Why should we respect our military and first responders?

Proceeds from this fundraiser are going straight into the development of material for “Step Up America” with part of the proceeded going to American Legion Post 39 for their involvement in this event. This poker run consisted of 5 different stops: American Legion Post 189 in Sebastian, Archie’s in Fort Pierce, American Legion Post 40 also in Fort Pierce, American Legion Post 318 in Port Saint Lucie, and lastly American Legion Post 39 in Vero Beach.

Post 39 served lunch for all the riders with a live band, followed by the announcement of best hand and worst hand in poker. The day ended with a Chinese auction with over 10 prizes being offered.
