War on Terror
On September 11th, 2001, The United States of America and its citizens were introduced to terrorism in a shocking manner. On that fateful day, 3,000 Americans lost their lives at the hands of terrorists. Thus began our “War on Terror”. This is unlike any war the American people have ever seen. It will be fought on many fronts, against an enemy that lives in many countries. How will we win a war such as this? How long will it take to fight it? These are hard questions that bring many answers.
What the American people need to realize is these terrorists despise us simply for our way of life. Freedom is not in their vocabulary. The United States is a melting pot of all races, religions and beliefs. One thing however that we all have in common is, because we are Americans the terrorists hate us. Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t matter, if you are an American you are their enemy. What they seek to do is disrupt our very way of life, and we must never let that happen.
The main group of terrorists whom we face is Al Qaeda, or “The Base”. They are led by Islamic militant Osama Bin Laden, who corrupts and manipulates his religion to gain followers. His network of operatives is large and far reaching and their goal is to afflict violence and hatred on the United States and our Allies. Bin Laden has made it clear that he will not rest until he has caused as much damage and chaos as he can to our country.
How will we win this war? Is it possible? The terrorists have forgotten one important thing. The United States and its citizens are a people of incredible resolve. We will not be bullied, intimidated, or frightened into submission. We will stand as one nation; where liberty, justice and freedom prevail. Through the efforts of our fine men and woman of our military, we will fight on to ensure that freedom is victorious and that hatred is defeated.
